Sizing And Access
How do I know which size unit I need?
As a general guide, a standard 6x3 metre shed holds a full three-bedroom home. A 20-foot container suits a two-bedroom home's worth of contents, or overflow from a larger home after a downsize. Smaller sheds work well for one to two bedroom apartments or trade and business overflow.
If you are not sure, call Anita before you commit. She will talk through what you plan to store and help you choose. If there is still uncertainty on moving day, she can hold a second unit in reserve at no charge until the removal truck arrives, and you only pay for what you actually use.
Can a removal truck access the facility?
Yes. There is ample room between the sheds and containers for a full-size furniture truck to pull up and unload or load directly. You do not need to transfer goods by hand from a distance.
Can I access my unit after hours?
Daytime access is strongly recommended. Emergency lighting activates from sunset, but the sheds and containers do not have internal lighting. If you need to access after dark, you would need to bring your own light source. For anything planned, daytime is far more practical.
Security And Access Policy
Who can access my unit?
You are the only person with access. Our policy is that we hold no key to any unit. You supply your own padlock and retain sole physical control. Nobody enters your unit without your authorisation and confirmed identity.
Why do you ask for an alternative contact person?
At induction, Anita asks every customer to nominate someone other than their partner as an alternative contact. This is someone she can reach if you are hospitalised, travelling overseas, or otherwise unreachable.
In practice, it protects you. If a payment issue or a change in your circumstances arises and Anita cannot reach you, having a named contact means the situation can be resolved without needing to over-lock your unit. It is a practical safeguard, not a formality.
Can someone else access my unit on my behalf?
Shared or joint access is not typically permitted. If you need someone else to be able to access your unit, speak to Anita at induction. Any arrangement of that kind needs to be agreed and documented before access is granted.
Does 24-hour monitoring affect my insurance?
It may. Some insurers offer a discount when goods are stored in a facility with continuous alarm monitoring. When speaking with your insurer, let them know that every unit at Ants Storage has its own individual alarm monitored 24 hours a day. It is worth asking.
Pricing And Payments
What does the monthly rate include?
Every unit includes individual 24-hour alarm monitoring, your own padlock and sole access, strict identity verification on every visit, and Anita's personal induction when you start. There are no administration fees, no sign-up fees, and no exit fees. You pay for the unit. That is it.
What if I need to leave before a prepaid period ends?
You receive a refund for any unused months. If you pay for three months and leave after two, the third month is refunded. No penalty, no argument.
What happens if a payment is missed or overdue?
Anita will contact you, and your alternative contact if needed, to resolve the situation. If payment is not made, a fee applies and the unit may be over-locked until the account is settled. In cases where goods are abandoned and cannot be retrieved by the customer, they may be disposed of. These situations are rare, but the terms are clear from the outset.
What Can Be Stored
What is not permitted at Ants Storage?

A few things we ask of everyone
Ants Storage is a shared facility. Please take your litter with you when you leave, and be considerate of other customers when accessing your unit. Do not block access or exit areas while sorting through your goods.
