About

Anita at work.jpg

You are not just looking for storage. You are looking for someone you can trust.

There is a difference between locking something away and knowing it is safe. Anita Saunders has been part of this community for over 35 years. She understands both, and she takes the second one seriously.

The Person Behind It

Anita has been involved in the Fleurieu Community, through the local schools, the sailing community, the families that have called this stretch of coast home for generations. She is not a remote investor. She is not a franchise manager. Ants Storage sits on Waterport Road in Port Elliot, right on the route between Goolwa and Victor Harbor that locals and tradies travel every single day.

She knows the south coast the way only someone who has built a life here can. She knows why people move here. She knows what they give up to get here. And she knows that the hardest part of a sea-change is not finding the right house. It is working out what to do with everything you brought with you.

"They were emotionally attached to it, and so they need to store it somewhere until they have worked out what they are going to do."

Anita said that about her customers, not reading it from a marketing document. It is the reason she runs Ants Storage the way she does.

What She Gets About You

She has done this herself. Moved from a large house to a smaller one. Reduced and reduced again, and still found herself with a timber boom from a boat renovation sitting in a shed waiting for the day she finally gets around to it. Her daughter's old record player. Things that matter, even when you cannot explain exactly why.

The emotional gymnastics of sorting through decades of belongings are real. Anita is not going to rush you through them. You do not have to be ready. You just need somewhere safe while you work it out.

How She Looks After You

Anita conducts every induction herself. You will meet the owner on your first visit, and you will deal with the owner throughout. There is no booking system, no call centre, no escalation path. When you ring, Anita answers.

Our policy is that you supply your own padlock and we hold no key to your unit. You are the only person with access. Nobody enters your shed without your authorisation and a confirmed identity.

Not Anita. Not the police, without credentials.

How she handles the unexpected

One long-term customer was hit by a car and hospitalised. Anita already had their alternate contact on file, collected at induction. She managed the situation without the customer needing to think about their belongings at one of the worst moments of their life. That is what it means to deal with someone who actually knows your name.

How she handles uncertainty

A customer could not decide how much space she would need before the removal truck arrived. Anita held a second unit in reserve for moving day at no charge. In the end, one unit was enough. The customer paid for one. That is personalised service, not a policy. It is a decision Anita made because it was the right thing to do.

What You Can Count On

Monthly billing with no lock-in. Minimum one month. Stay as long as you need.

Pro-rata refunds. Pay for three months, leave after two, receive the third month back. No penalty, no argument.

Loyalty pricing. Long-term customers receive rates that reflect tenure, not market fluctuation.

A unit sized to your actual needs. Anita will help you choose before you commit, and hold a backup if there is any doubt.

On-site amenities: maintained toilet, emergency lighting from sunset, fire extinguishers and hose reel, wide access lanes for removal trucks.

The People Anita Looks After

Sea-changers who sold in Adelaide and are not quite ready to settle. Grey nomads tenanting their new south coast property while they take off in the caravan. Trades and small businesses using Port Elliot as practical overflow storage between Goolwa and Victor Harbor. People in the middle of renovation, divorce, bereavement, or simply between houses. People who went to Bali for a while and needed someone they could trust with a carful of furniture and a car in the same shed until they came back.

Most of them, Anita says, never even come to check on their things. They do not need to. They already know everything is exactly as they left it.

"Most of the time it's peace of mind knowing it's being looked after."
